Currently, over 250 breeds are recognized by the A.K.C. and more than 300 are registered with the U.K.C.Although numerous other organizations exist which classify dogs into various groups, these sculptures are catagorized into the following eight areas:
New pieces are designed every day, and many are based on pictures received from clients. If you don't see your breed, feel free to contact the artist to find out if she is currently working on any examples.
"Each piece I make is first drawn out on paper, then that pattern is used as a template for the metal. Because I try to capture the essence of a dog, there may be 5 or 6 different positions with one breed. I can weld on garden stakes or hooks, or if you are interested in a gate application, I can do that as well. In most instances, a piece can be custom designed to fit your specifications."
Many 'All American' dogs are fabricated, so don't feel limited by the breed-specific nature of the categories. The OTHER DOG ART page has examples of these designs, as well as pictures of gates, addresses and signs.
