ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Dana using plasma cutterOriginally a ceramic artist, Dana Hyde was introduced to metal work by her father at his welding shop in Brinnon, WA. After one lesson she was hooked, and on that foundation built her business, Metal & Mud.

Stainless steel heronHerons, kingfishers, salmon and many other Pacific Northwest themes make up the extensive body of work Hyde has designed. Visit the website www.metalandmud.net for a full review of completed projects. Her current passion is creating a line of stainless steel dog art. Each piece is designed based on a pet the artist used as a model, or from pictures that clients submit of their dog friends.

"The life of art originates with a vision. It then evolves as I listen to my clients, and a design starts to form into something uniquely personal for them.  My greatest joy is installing a completed piece: once it becomes part of someone's life, the process is complete."
